Sam Bush

Ice Caps – Peaks of Telluride

Sugar Hill

This recording sort of embodies what Telluride is all about. I’d call it blurgrass. Take some of bluegrass music’s best and busiest session men and turn ‘em loose playing whatever they like to listen to in their spare time – which is not always bluegrass, as some might think. This recording is comprised of some of Bush’s better performances over the years. He is ably aided by a number of fine musicians including Darrell Scott, Bela Fleck, John Cowan, Jon Randall Stewart, and John Magnie. They cover a broad range of material with songs by Dylan, Bill Monroe, John Hiatt, Soony Landreth, and Leon Russell as well as some Sam Bush originals. With a special guest appearance by Pastor Mustard.
