High Art

Music from the Motion Picture Soundtrack

Velvel/BMG

Shudder To Think has got to be one of the most under-appreciated bands on a major label, as this soundtrack amply demonstrates. The band is responsible for most of the music here, with the exception of a track from Reservoir and another from JeepJazz Project. Sticking to the instrumental side, the band shifts moods easily, not only supporting the on-screen action (I assume – I haven’t seen the film) but also coming up with music that stands up well on its own. For the most part, the music here is subdued and subtle; fans of Shudder To Think should definitely investigate, as should those with an interest in film music that transcends the screen.
