DollsHead, a techno pop duo in the same vein as Shakespeare’s Sister and Portishead, certainly make up for what they lack in originality with energy, style, and great vocals. Sierra Swan’s haunting, distinctive vocal style is the soul of the project, and makes this record a real treat. Her partner, Graham Edwards, creates a nice, driving beat for Swan’s vocals. There is a lot to nit pick about this record, but it would make little difference in my opinion. It is simply a case of style over substance, but damn, if you have enough style, nobody cares. A real guilty pleasure.
