Eat the Rich: A Treatise on Economics

by P.J. O’Rourke

Atlantic Monthly Press

Just put it down. Funnier’n hell. Informative as hell too. Whodda thunk that a fucking book that attempts to explain economics would be funnier’n hell?

Not me, that’s for sure.

Lately I’ve been on a streak of books that seem to grind along like some kind of required reading for a class they MADE you take. Surely, economic theory would qualify nicely there, wouldn’t it? Thankfully, that little streak just got broken and broken good. Whipped through this thing in just a couple of days filled with the kind of good surf that ordinarily keeps me from doing anything else except eat and sleep.

P.J.’s some kinda damn Republican or something, but I really don’t give a rat’s ass. The guy can smell bullshit a mile off and has a wonderful ability to poke fun at it, even as he explains what makes it bullshit in the most commonsense of terms.

Not much more to really say about it. Go get the damn thing and read it. You’ll be glad you did.
