Noise Pollution

Louisville quartet Ousia serves up three songs of tense, finely woven post-punk in the league of T-Tauri or the 90 Day Men: lots of high fretboard work, funked-up bass, point-counterpoint, and Shellacked drum syncopation. Often burying the yelped vocals, the somewhat muddied production hampers the proceedings a tad. Nonetheless, a firm step in the right direction.
