Featuring former Slant 6 guitarist/vocalist Christina Billotte, Quix*o*tic strips down said band’s minimalist garage blueprint a step further into haunting, loose, Cramps-ian terrain, with starkly simple melodies and Billotte’s wispy vocals at the forefront – by all means a fine idea, but that ever-elusive “something else” (maybe Hammond organ?) is needed to push this Washington, DC trio away from its lineage and into its own unique skin. Nonetheless, highly suggested for fans of Slant 6, the Cramps, and Satan’s Pilgrims.
