59 Times the Pain

End of the Millennium

Epitaph

For a band named after a Hüsker Dü song, 59 Times the Pain don’t have an ounce of influence from them. Instead, they have more of an Insted sound (such a good play on words… I surprise myself). Comparing them to a more recent band, I’d have to say they’re close to Battery. Yes, some positively positive ‘88 style hardcore from these Swedes. Go! Go! Go! They don’t take the “tough guy” stance, which is appreciated.

This is a Burning Heart record (a Swedish label), which is being distributed in the U.S. by Epitaph. Burning Heart has been putting some good stuff out lately, like Refused and this one. Damn, Sweden. So, if you missed the whole ‘88 hardcore scene or want to relive it, 59 Times will help you out.
