5/5/2000

Accretions

Imagine if you would, the sound of apocalypse. Violent waves of dissonance capped with planet shaking beats. Asteroid after asteroid rhythmically slams into the face of our planet. You can feel the earth ripping apart at the seams. While the actual proclaimed events on 5/5/00 point to another ice age, 5/5/2000 make a more cosmic sounding statement. They remind me of another band that used thick guitar-based texture generation, Maeror Tri. However, where Maeror Tri focused on the human mind, 5/5/2000 turns its eyes toward the heavens. This is a cosmic breed of sound.

But wait, we do not merely float along, there are intermittent rafts of breakbeats that serve as an aid to traversing the ocean of sound inscribed within. Although this band was unknown to me prior to the landing of this disc, one can only hope that they will continue charting the ever-expanding heavens.
