Archer Prewitt

White Sky

Carrot Top

Prewitt builds songs the way an architect may build matchstick models. Unlike your average preschooler, you’ll see elements of tension, balance and structure integrated with the results. Prewitt uses some mighty fancy matchsticks – horns, strings and a luminary guest turn from Edith Frost – but it’s the overall form of the songs, delicate constructions that follow some unique internal logic, that makes me listen to the album over again. Gentle music for intelligent folks, I daresay.
