The Makers

Rock Star God

Sub Pop

I don’t know about the Makers. Sometimes all they give me is a false front of that glam rock schtick, with a bit more rock. Like the Wizard of Oz behind the curtain, but sometimes they do what they do so well I wonder if perhaps it’s the real thing. That garage rock sound that curls like a clean sneer. That riff rock harmonizing that falls somewhere between the Beach Boys and Mother Love Bone. Then, all of a sudden, I’m listening to it and it just sounds silly. How can they take themselves seriously? But that’s where the fun is. It’s like going to see Mission: Impossible… you just have to let go, let yourself enjoy it. Rock.
