Carrisa’s Wierd

Ugly But Honest

Brown

The debut from one of Seattle’s finer bands, the music slides down like rain across windshields on a lonely drive out of town. Enchanting melodies drifting mournful and uplifting, catching you on the sharper side of sadness. Live, this band could make you cry. Mat and Jenn play off each others’ voices like water, and across the heart-pulling swirl of Sarah’s violin. The music feels strangely heavy at times, for not having a bass player, and the drummer keeping heart beat time without a bass drum, but the heaviness is only the sorrow. One of those albums that makes you feel so much better… a sadness shared.
