Ovuca

Onclements

Rephlex

Ovuca’s new album spans 71 sometimes-named tracks over two discs. His electronic tunes (well, maybe “tune” is not the right word) are straight out of Finland and rarely last more than two minutes. And this is one of the reasons why it’s so fun and interesting. No track goes on long enough to get repetitious – dance mixes these are not. Ovuca’s musical philosophy seems to be the following: establish a groove (or not), manipulate some samples, noodle around with some weird-ass drum programming, and quit while you’re ahead. Onclements triumphs in its varied brevity.
