Brave Captain

Nothing Lives Long, He Sang, Only the Earth and the Mountains

Thirsty Ear

The Brave Captain is straight outta The Boo Radleys, and if you know the music, you know what I mean. Beatelesque movements like some lysergic Sgt. Pepper play over the Britpop vocals and Flaming Lips drum kicks. I think I’m happy, but sometimes drugs are music… or, I mean, music is a drug, and these tunes get me spinning in some other reality. The moodier mellow moments kind of make me think of Eric Satie, if Satie was a member of the Elephant Six collective. Beautiful moods and melodies and Martin is singing better than ever.
