Requiems of Revulsion: A Tribute to Carcass

Various Artists

Deathvomit/Necropolis

Ya know, ten years ago, Carcass was the frikkin’ Ramones of grindcoredeathmetalwhatever. It is thus fitting that they are treated as some sort of gods by the likes of no less than eighteen bands on this awesome tribute. If you can stand songs that, lyrically, sound like they were lifted from med school textbooks, and musically sound like so much churning death metal, then this is just what the coroner ordered. Can you stand Disgorge covering “Hepatic Tissue Fermentation”? How about Engorged’s version of “Swarming Vulgar Mass of Infected Virulency”? Or Avulsed hammering out “Embryonic Necropsy and Devourment”? No doubt these stars of today’s scene were first inspired by Reek Of Putrefaction.
