Patchouli

The Day We Let Go

Earthsign

And now, Patchouli presents for us a collection of acoustic little ditties about love, emotion, drinking tea in the morning, and going to the river. Bland, acoustic guitar and female vocals with the occasional male backup create a soft, lulling effect. The singer has a pretty voice, even if it isn’t spectacular and it doesn’t change volume throughout the course of the album. I wish I could say that I liked a certain song, but all 11 songs sound the same, except for maybe the one song that sounds like “The Girl From Ipanema.” Think Jewel on depressants, or maybe open mic night at the local coffeehouse.
