Rumors of the Faithful

Spirit Of Orr

Beautiful lo-fi indie rock that creeps out and grabs you before you know what’s happening. There’s a quality to this CD that reminds me of Sparklehorse, but only sometimes. It also reminds me a little of The Sea and Cake, but only if The S&C were a more straight ahead rock band, which these guys aren’t, but you know what I mean? The nice thing about this band is that there are four lead singers, and taking their turns with the songs you end up with a nice mix of vocal styles that fit together as a whole. There’s an American feel to these songs, but without taking it into the land of Americana. There are roots and roads, stories of love and loss, and long highways that take you home.
