Now It’s Overhead

Now It’s Overhead

Saddle Creek

Moving melodic pop that fades into depression, but not without a sense of hopefulness spun tight through the vocals and melodies. Some ethereal drifts move across the guitars, kept grounded by the minimal electronic beat of the keyboards. Maria Taylor and Orenda Fink, also of Azure Ray, lend their vocals to the structure, hypnotic and soulfully beautiful. Driving through you like some indie rock dream that makes you feel like you’re floating. Andy LeMaster, the former Sugar bass player, adds a dynamic to the vocals, letting the songs breathe in and out, as well as letting the instrumentations move you up and down. The music makes you feel transported, but it’s to a place you’ve always wanted to be.
