Well, sure enough, CBS has had it’s spine extracted and bowed to protests from the GOP and a threatened advertiser boycott by pulling the “Reagans” miniseries and licensing it to Showtime. They aren’t saying that’s the reason, but come on.
The right answer was, the GOP has no more business reviewing a script about Reagan than the Democrats do the proposed film about Hilary Clinton–starring Sharon Stone, yet, in a scenario out of Bill Clinton’s dreams. If the film is slanderous, there are legal remedies to take care of it. Since it almost certainly isn’t, this is as clear a case of censorship–not a word I throw around lightly–as I have ever seen.
