Literacy…gotta love it
According to an item in the February 20, 2004 Entertainment Weekly, book sales figures are not exactly a barometer of electorial success. Of the six candidates who have books out, Howard Dean has sold the most copies, followed closely by Wesley Clark. We all know what’s happened to Dean, and that Clark is out of the race. Edwards is next, but he’s way down–his book has sold less than half of theirs. John Kerry has sold a little more than half of Edwards–Dennis Kucinich is beating him. That is, of course, the only time you will ever see those five words in sequence. At the bottom of the pile is the Reverend Al Sharpton.
I figure this has to mean something about the literacy rate in America–which may also explain the continued success of Friends.
