The Sound of the Crowd

I Suppose Something By The Beatles Was Out Of The Question

As a campaign song for Kerry/Edwards, I mean. Not current enough, and (worse) not an American band. So they decided to go with Van Halen’s “Right Now.”

Hagar’s a big Republican, and I think Eddie is too (dunno about the others), but okay.

On the other hand, that whole “not an American group” thing didn’t stop some:

“At a 2000 rally for George W. Bush, his staff spun a few bars of Fleetwood Mac’s “Don’t Stop,” which Bill Clinton had used so effectively, then abruptly replaced it with the Who’s “Won’t Get Fooled Again.”

I say Kerry’s staff should remind folks of that, list a few of the times Bush has fooled them (say, by lying us into a war) and crank up the Beatles’ “Should’ve Known Better.”
