The Sound of the Crowd

I’m sure you’ll have some cosmic rationale

Scott Rosenberg asks some good questions.

Good article from the Washington Post on the further erosion of reasons for going to war in Iraq and the finger-pointing that’s resulted.

As won’t surprise any of my friends (or anyone else that reads this blog, really), I think the Kerry campaign makes the most important point here, one that should not be overlooked:

“Yesterday, the Kerry campaign issued a statement saying: ‘Nothing in this report absolves the White House of its responsibility for mishandling of the country’s intelligence. The fact is that when it comes to national security, the buck stops at the White House, not anywhere else.”

(Emphasis mine–BV)

ETA: NYT story further undermining the idea that Hussien was any threat whatsoever. Not just to us, but his own region.

ETA, again: But don’t worry. None of this means we have to alter US policy. Not one whittle, not one jot. Hey, according to Dianne Fienstein in the above-linked story, at least we learned a lesson.

And in a completely unrelated matter, American deaths alone in Iraq recently passed the 1,000 mark. To say nothing of American wounded, or our allies, and certainly nothing of the Iraqis.

But at least we learned a valuable lesson…one some of us knew before we created thousands of holes in peoples lives.

And there’s still a chance Bush might beat Kerry.

I loathe this godless culture.

Except for Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, of course.
