The Sound of the Crowd

Meanwhile, Back In 2004

Another story you probably won’t see on 98% of television news, although it involves something that actually happened less than 30 years ago. Iraqi teens were abused at Abu Ghraib, the Washinton Post is reporting. These abuses included being threatened by unmuzzled dogs to the point where they wet their pants, and of course, that good old treat, sodomy.

Sometimes I wish a rain would wash away this cursed town. My favorite paragraph:

“There were two MP dog handlers who did use dogs to threaten kids detained at Abu Ghraib,” said an Army officer familiar with the report, one of two investigations on detainee abuse scheduled for release this week. “It has nothing to do with interrogation. It was just them on their own being weird.”

Just them on their own being weird.

Sigh.
