Salon has published a new scene from Tony Kushner’s play-in-progress featuring First lady Laura Bush as a character. There’s also a link to the controversial first act.
The new scene is what sophisticates call “metafiction.” Meaning it features Kushner himself (the award-winng author of Angels In America in both its film and theater incarnations) as a character engaging “Laura Bush” in conversation about the play they have just watched.
