Disingenuous sack of shit
Oh, the president cares so much about those “outside groups” that are bad for the system. Except of course when they happen to work for his side.
Really, this is getting increasingly preposterous. Here’s an MSNBC story carrying the headline that Bush has called for a halt to the “swift boat” ads. Well, not quite–actually he’s reiterated his claim that all ads from “outside groups” should be banned. As though the problem with this ad was that it was from an outside group, making it no worse than those MoveOn puts up. The problem with the ad is that according to virually all credible information, the things it says are not true. You can’t say that about the anti-Bush ads, I don’t say that just because I’m anti-Bush. I say it because if any of the things that the anti-Bush ads say were as provably, demonstratably untrue as the “swift boat” ads, don’t you think we’d have heard about it by now from Drudge, Joe Scarborough and the like? They can’t defend Bush’s record; he is clearly an incompetent. But they’d rather have a Republican who is “one of theirs” than a Democrat who might actually be able to do the job.
