The Sound of the Crowd

Wise or naked in secret oktober

My friend Corey in Los Angeles is directing a show for his theater company there, Sacred Fools. It’s a stage adapation of two scripts of a program called “Quiet, Please” from the golden age of radio.

Unfortunately, barring a sudden windfall from a heretofore unknown relative, I probably won’t be able to attend the show. I feel terrible about it as I’d really like to–I take partial credit for giving Corey the idea. Old-time radio shows are a hobby of mine, and I was the one who turned him onto one of the scripts after hearing a recording of the original show. But the idea to stage it and the work getting it done is all him (and his cast & crew, of course).

Corey and a couple of the performers are going to be on a syndicated radio program tonight (Thursday) and talk about it. The show is “The David Lawrence Show,” and obstensibly you can hear it on the web through the magic of streaming audio. They’ll be on from 9-10pm.
