Funny-sad, funny-didactic, or just funny?
Call it what you like, but in my view, this Doonesbury storyline Trudeau’s embarked upon has been both strangely affecting and funny. And I appreciate that he didn’t take the drastic step of maiming one of his oldest characters and then drop it. He’s really playing it out. One of my biggest complaints about a TV series that shall remain nameless (it was Buffy) was that they’d do big, melodramatic things and then back away from the consequences.
Here’s yesterday’s Doonesbury and today’s.
