Okay, so now I’ve seen Jersey Girl
Wow. It’s not often you spend most of a movie just open-mouthed in shock at how bad it is. Maybe it plays better to dads–but no, a good movie would have shown me what it’s like to be a dad, it wouldn’t require me to be one to enjoy it.
Kevin Smith-worshippers might like it, but I’m a fan too, and I was really pulling for him to make this “graduation.” But it’s one of those movies where virtually nothing rings true.
