U.S. accused of hampering Saddam probe

Associated Press

BRUSSELS, Belgium – Iraq’s justice minister accused the United States today of trying to hinder the Iraqi investigation of Saddam Hussein by limiting his access to interrogators, and said “it seems there are lots of secrets they want to hide.”

Take this to the bank. He will either never stand trial, or if he does, it will be in secret, with most testimony not released to the public. His own lawyer doesn’t know where his client is half the time. The U.S. doesn’t want Saddam talking in open court. No way.
