Reading this bit:
Poll: One-third of American voters believe in Christian Zionism
The Question: Which of the following best explains your belief in Christian Zionism, which is defined as a belief that Israel must have all of the promised land, including Jerusalem, to facilitate the second coming of the messiah?
Led me to investigate a bit further, during which I found out that, in America:
82% believe in God
68% believe in angels
61% believe in the Devil
and 34% believe in UFO’s.
Now, I’m not stating this to slam my fellow American’s belief systems (perhaps their critical thinking skills…) but let me get this straight.
You read a book that you accept as fact as to the existence of god to the tune of 82%, but only 61% bought into the part about the devil? Which is less than those who believe in angels?
And you believe in UFOs roughly the same amount that you do in the notion of Israel being the promised land in order to have the second coming?
Don’t know about you, but this is all sorta scary.
