The Cody Rivers Show presents – Right Back Where We Finished

Orange Venue

2010 Orlando International Fringe Festival</strong>

The surrealism twins from Washington State are back at it: This time they appear in anti-symmetrical pants and quilted jackets, much to the disappointment of the crowd that came last year to see them in wrestling singlets. The show uses a dozen or so skits that are never introduced yet flow together almost seamlessly. Opening the evening is a pep talk by Coach Cody – there’s no more money for football, so rugby will have to do. That’s one of those Euro-sports that only the prep school kids play, so we get the run down on scrims and scrums and try and bagatelles. Two geeky kids come back from the science museum and try to one up each other, and we learn that “Rock Paper Scissor” was invented in Japan, then go out west to the Land of Absolutely Literal English. A string telephone is passed into the audience, and when Mr. Rivers asks a girl in the front row “How is Mr. Fuzzy Muffins doing?” her reply of “He’s dead” brought a groan from the audience, and an elderly woman in the front row sadly said “Well, that’s a show stopper”. It wasn’t, this pair of loony tunes puts on the best unexplainable physical comedy in the world, or at least Central Florida.
