Directed by Julia Allarice Gagne

Starring Zachary Lane and Cameron Gagne

Orlando International Fringe Theatre Festival, Pink Venue</strong>

I’m not that good with crazy people, either in real life or on stage. Lawrence (Lane) is a particular problem; his agoraphobia is so intense he’s never left the apartment he shares with his sister Joanna (Gagne). She’s pregnant, or maybe the baby bump is as imaginary as their other two kids, Edna and Claypone. She’s also afraid of the landlord and the woman next door and the whole big, bad earth but she still gets up and goes out to do the daily shoplifting. Afterwards, she comes home and Lawrence either writes his imaginary book or they have imaginary sex. If none of this makes sense, join the club. There might be a line between reality and fantasy here, but if so it’s out somewhere in the middle of Virginia Avenue. Lawrence is annoying, Johanna sad, and the invisible kids…well children should be seen and not heard, and they got half that right. If you’re looking for a classic “fringy” show this one is out beyond the left field bleachers.

This commentary was based on a technical rehearsal.
