This commentary was based on a technical prevue.

OK, go see this show first. Then go see it again. And maybe one more. These three classically trained musicians are the illegitimate love children of P.D.Q. Bach as they combine dance, comedy, and classical music in one of the most amazing performances I’ve ever seen. Yeah, there’s some rah-rah about drawing cards from a deck to set the run order of their 20 segments but that’s really a big “Who cares?” What amazes is the team’s combination of acrobatics, dance and pure musical skill. Percussionist Greg Jukes dances and surfs with his Vibraphone and when bass trombonist C. Neil Parsons chases him around like the Keystone cops neither loses a beat. Flutist Hilary Abigana jetés with the best and they keep upping the stakes with increasing complex material from Mussorgsky and Stravinsky. They seduce you into Avant-garde musical effects that recall Arthur Lyman and his “rice on a drumhead” sound effects. Their musicianship would be impressive if they just stood still and stared at their music stands and their acrobatics would impress if they never saw an instrument, but together they make stage magic. Now go see them a third time. Go.

This show was part of the 2015 Orlando Fringe Festival. Information on tickets and times may be found at www.OrlandoFringe.org.
