Brocarde
“Last Supper (Reheated Radio Edit)”
Season One
UK-based alt-metal artist and supernatural influencer Brocarde unveils the music video for “Last Supper (Reheated Radio Edit),” exploring motifs of fame, self-image, and the susceptibility of human consciousness.
Brocarde explains, “Sometimes it’s seemingly impossible to escape popular culture. With maturity, I’ve learned to reflect on it, embrace it, and challenge it with my voice. ‘Last Supper’ asks the listener to reflect on and question what actually matters. In your final hours on earth, what would be important? Spending time with loved ones or leaving a lasting selfie? It’s food for thought, every pun intended!”
Originally released in 2019, “Last Supper (Reheated Radio Mix)” follows Brocarde’s recent single, “Identity Theft,” which delved into bullying, the emergence of body image concerns, and loss of identity.
Produced by Chris Collier (Whitesnake, Mick Mars, Korn), “Last Supper (Reheated Radio Edit)” rolls out on tangs of gothic rock merged with hints of alt-metal, forging a grinding, muscular melody riding pounding percussion. Intimate, vulnerable lyrics wrapped in ferocious, glowering vocals probe the dark realms of listeners’ true idols: do they serve the artificial constructs of fame and status foisted upon them by the final tyrants of the masses, or the sweet things of life?
The video depicts a surreal, nightmarish tale like something out of Animal Farm. Brocarde is seized and imprisoned by a group of pigs, symbolizing society’s obsession with fraudulent values. In the end, Brocarde escapes, hosting an unforgettable dinner party she describes as “a vegan dream.”
Powerful and provocative, with “Last Supper (Reheated Radio Edit),” Brocarde puts her finger on the prevalent malaise infecting modern Western culture.
