Pop-country singer-songwriter Brooke Moriber unveils her new single, “Proving Me Wrong,” a song about the seeming fantasy of true love, a fantasy blown apart by discovering the existence of true love with another person.
Moriber began her career in music at a young age, performing on Broadway, followed by writing songs in her teenage years as a way of dealing with a rare eye disease that, fortunately, later went into remission. Traveling to Nashville, she released her debut single, “Cry Like A Girl,” later signing with Reviver Records. Since then, Moriber has released a series of contagious singles, an EP, and an album.

Written by Moriber, Randall Fowler, and Ian Flanigan, who also produced “Proving Me Wrong,” the lyrics begin by pondering the elusiveness of love: “I’ve met some James Dean wannabes / Buying drinks, selling dreams.”
On the chorus, when she comes face to face with real love, a surprised Moriber sings, “Never knew that I could fall and someone would catch me / Never thought a house could be a home / Never knew that love could be everlasting / But there you go again proving me wrong.”
“Proving Me Wrong” rolls out on creamy surfaces of pop-country, riding a subtle rhythmic pulse topped by Moriber’s luscious, drawling vocals infusing the lyrics with smooth, burnished tones. It’s one of those voices that beguiles listeners with nuanced timbres and elegant textures, mysteriously alluring and easy to fall into.
There’s a delicious sway to the melody, highlighted by a softly iridescent bridge that drips with quixotic savors, revealing warm, tender emotions sprinkled with newfound delight at unexpected feelings.
The intimacy of Brooke Moriber’s music — and her lush voice — are revealed on “Proving Me Wrong,” like telling a magical story.
Along with sharing the stage with stars like Scotty McCreery and The Gin Blossoms, Moriber hosts her bi-monthly Nashville in New York (NINY) Songwriters in the Round series, returning to The Bitter End in NYC on Saturday, July 26, 2025.
