Nashville singer-songwriter SUANNA unveils her brand-new single, “Bad Bad Secret,” and her brand-new sound – a shift from country roots (as Suanna Lynn) to the thrumming energy of pop.
“Bad Bad Secret” radiates the ambiance of a woman haunted by her past, a past rife with behavior that shocks even her. Deeds she is trying to flee and escape from, but that she can’t forget or outpace.
SUANNA explains, “She’s bold, beautiful, and brave. But she’s also got a secret she can’t shake—and the more she tries to outrun it, the more it defines her.”
She goes on, “As the songwriter, I care about this woman. But she’s made her bed—and now she has to lie in it. We get to feel her world through the music, but her full story? That’s locked away.”
Co-written with Annie Wildgen and produced by Brian Skeel, “Bad Bad Secret” reflects SUANNA’s decision, inspired by Ed Sheeran, Imagine Dragons, OneRepublic, Halsey, X Ambassadors, and Carrie Underwood, to reshape her sound.
As Suanna Lynn, she performed and hosted writers’ rounds at the Grand Ole Opry, 3rd & Lindsley, and the Nashville Palace, while her music was included in the Nashville Songwriters Association International’s Top 40, along with features in elite media outlets.
Opening on a thumping rhythm topped by darkly gleaming tones dripping with raw, portentous surfaces, “Bad Bad Secrets” slowly builds and takes on shadowy resonance. SUANNA’s vocals ooze spectral timbres, adding to the mysterious sensation of the lyrics. Glowing with ominous textures, vocal harmonies suffuse the song with furtive pressure.
