“that’s all I wanted (microdose zyzz)”

Wake Up Music

Melodic rap/nu-pop duo the ET Boys, fresh off their first live show in West Palm Beach, Florida, unveil their latest track, “that’s all I wanted (microdose zyzz),” a song highlighted by wild rococo pop surfaces blended with Talking Heads and Big Audio Dynamite art-rock innovation.

Talking about the track, vocalist/lyricist Tacboy says, “Quite a silly tune; it was fun to play live.”

The stream-of-consciousness lyrics reveal an uninterrupted flow of Proustian thoughts and feelings, immersing listeners in an upbeat emotional sensation, at once dynamic and oh-so engaging.

wait up we just met / go shake me down for a damn cigarette / with a face like wow and a waist like that / pull my hand right down to the place we met.”

Buoyantly rapid-fire oscillating synths provide a circus-like merry-go-round intro. The push of the rhythm and the rippling fluctuations of the melody give the tune a delicious time-lapse effect because of the tones, textures, and patterns. Tacboy’s superb vocals juxtapose against the almost psychedelic momentum of the harmonics to form a vibrant and infectious song.

ET Boys arrived in 2021 with “Sober,” a standout release that immediately hinted at their ability to blur genre lines. Balancing melodic rap with sleek nu‑pop textures, the track showcased a sound unwilling to stay confined to any single lane.

The pair followed with multiple releases, including their debut album and an EP. Rather than easing up, ET Boys used 2025 to push their sound even further. Across five singles released throughout the year, they widened their creative scope and refined their stylistic themes.

Tracks like “Far Away,” crafted with producer David Gnozzi of MixBusTv, and “Metroid Freestyle,” backed by Grammy winner Drew Correa, demonstrated their versatility, while “Holy Ghost,” “Ritual,” and “Woe Am I” paraded the duo’s originality and flair.

Three of their songs — “Bong Bong,” “This Is Us,” and “Until Forever” — rose to the top of the Digital Radio Tracker (DRT) Independent Charts. Elsewhere, “Love Me If You Must” claimed the number‑one spot on The Urban Influencer Rap Charts, and “Ritual” reached the summit at Independent Global Radio Miami.

With “that’s all I wanted (microdose zyzz),” ET Boys deliver beaucoup flamboyance, transporting listeners to a Never-Never-Land soundscape.
