The Sound of the Crowd

I Have A Feeling This May Be Important

Do you just watch TV news, just read headlines, or even just get your news from US reporters?

Then you might think the recent report by the Senate intelligence committee did nothing but blame the CIA for “intelligence failures” leading to the war in Iraq.

Not so fast. It also contains information that a cell within the Pentagon was briefing the White House and undermining the CIA’s credibility, according to this article from the Telegraph in the UK.

For all their breast-baring page three girls, the UK do still have a reporter or two about the place.

Favorite graphs:

“The report by the Republican-dominated committee lambasted the CIA for intelligence failures while concluding that there was no evidence that the Bush administration tried to coerce officials to adapt their findings.

Yet the annexe – written by three leading Democratic senators – contains the strongest evidence yet that Pentagon hardliners sought to sideline the CIA during a drive to talk up a connection between Saddam and Osama bin Laden.”

Either this is going to be all over the major newspapers by tomorrow…or you’ll never hear of it again except on “progressive” blogs like this.

Wonder which it’ll be?

Roll over, Ed Murrow.
