Grammy-winning producer Antaeus recently released “Beautiful Dog (Afro House Remix),” his reimagined version of the song lifted from the album Dreaming Dog (June 2025, Music for Pets).
Based on scientific research, the Dreaming Dog project was designed to soothe dogs through a blend of ambient, lo-fi, Amapiano, and hints of reggae music. The creation of Amman Ahmed, founder of RelaxMyDog (now part of Create Music Group), the album was produced by Antaeus with Daniel from Mosadi.
According to Antaeus, “The remix of ‘Beautiful Dog’ was actually the original version I began writing for the album. Midway through, Amman and I agreed that 120 BPM was too fast, since research shows dogs respond best to 60–85 BPM. We set it aside, but I always knew I’d return to it. Revisiting it with a Deep Afro House groove, this remix preserves the calm vibes of the original while making it dancefloor-ready.”
“Beautiful Dog (Afro House Remix)” opens on evocative piano tones backed by swirling accents. A delicious, syncopated rhythm enters as sensuous, glowing vocals ride overhead, imbuing the tune with radiant surfaces. The alluring beat invites listeners to sway along with the pulsating motion.
