Bella Perron
Master Guitar Shredder Reflects on New Video, “Mirrors”
by Christopher Long
In the breakneck world of Bella Perron, 2025 was, by any qualified definition, a banner year. Over the last 12 months, the celebrated guitar slayer has been crushed beneath an avalanche of enviable ops, from heart-stopping musical collabs with the likes of fellow shredder Diego Vargas and violin virtuoso Ginny Luke, to recording and touring from coast to coast as a member of country-fried Americana sensation The Midnight Cowgirls.

But Perron has also been a busy bee, buzzing away on her soon-to-be-released solo record. And in the process, she’s recently produced two must-see solo videos in just the last two months. Packing plenty of nuts, guts, and soaring rock star swagger, her first video, “Enlighten,” dropped in October.
“‘Enlighten’ is a song about really connecting with my love for playing rock & roll and the joy it brings me. Growing up, I always loved the effortlessly FUN energy of Eddie Van Halen and Joe Satriani. I hope listeners can feel this energy!” — Bella Perron
Perron’s newly-released video for “Mirrors” was shot at The Record Co. in Boston. The track itself was produced by Perron and Scott Tarulli and engineered by Kara Snethlage. Taking a decidedly laid-back approach, the visual for the song shows the 23-year-old musician and songwriter doing what she does best, creating in a world-class studio, along with some of the best and brightest session players and knob twisters.
“Getting to record live with such amazing players, Kevin Figueiredo on drums and Tom Appleman on bass, was such a special experience. I’m so thankful for the opportunity!” — Bella Perron
The enticing four-minute clip is smeared with the magically melodic stylistic DNA of such guitar greats as Joe Satriani and Steve Vai, which is especially impressive if you can pull it off convincingly. And Perron does pull it off, seemingly without breaking a sweat.
“‘Mirrors’ is about capturing the pure excitement I feel when I’m completely in the moment playing the guitar! And it was a total full-circle moment to co-produce the song with my mentor from Berklee, Scott Tarulli. I learned too much in this process and definitely grew as a musician and writer!” — Bella Perron
With “Mirrors” now in the rearview, Perron sees herself revving into yet another banner year. As they say, “There’s no rest for the weary.” And given that Midnight Cowgirls tour dates, various studio sessions, and more video projects already are extending well into 2026, Bella Perron probably ain’t gonna be “resting” anytime soon! ◼
