The Sound of the Crowd

At Least They’re Sucking Each Other Dry For Once

A friend who shall remain nameless recently told me that when collecting funds for charity she found an interesting discrepancy: Her conservative, wealthy friends tended to be a lot stingier than her liberal, poor friends.

This New York Times story would appear to back that up. It seems that big-ticket donors to the GOP, some of whom have already raised in the hundreds of thousands of dollars, are being asked to pay an additional fee of over $4,000 if they want to attend the convention and go to all the cool parties.

Incidentally, similar donors to the Democratic party got to go to their wing-dings free.

So does this perpetuate the cartoon stereotype of money-grubbing conservatives? You tell me.
